Event: Michigan Society of Herpetologists program at Albion College on frogs and toads

Description: The Whitehouse Nature Center welcomes the Michigan Society of Herpetologists to Albion College for a special 2-part program. Eric Tobin, MSH president and Albion resident will conduct a presentation on how to identify Michiganâ??s frogs and toads. This power point will offer visual characteristics as well as the opportunity to hear their unique calls. Later that evening, Eric will lead a group through the Whitehouse Nature Centerâ??s wetlands to test your new skills on a night hike listening to the sounds of our native Albion Frogs and Toads. Some live frogs will be on exhibit in the Visitor Center. Eric will be on hand to answer questions about reptiles and amphibians before and after each event. Free to participate. Presentation: 4 - 5 pm will be held at the Science Complex located at 200 N. Hannah Street at the corner of North Hannah Street and East Michigan Avenue. Night Hike: 8:30 pm â?? 10:30 pm will be held at the Whitehouse Nature Center; from the intersections of North Hannah and Erie Streets turn onto Farley Drive. There will be signage out on the road.
