Description:

The Albion College Music
Department is proud to present
a Faculty Recital featuring a
diverse array of works for
voice and piano. The concert
will take place on Sunday,
September 21 at 4 pm in
Goodrich Chapel on the Albion
College campus. Clayton Parr
will present a set of English
art songs by Henry Purcell and
Peter Warlock. Maureen Balke
will transport us to the
1960s-70s with pop hits by
Lulu, The Shangri-Las, Linda
Ronstadt, The Carpenters, and
more. On the pianistic side,
Aaron Copland’s thorny
contemporary masterpiece Piano
Variations will be contrasted
by Sergei Rachmaninoff’s
richly romantic Fantaisie-
Tableaux for Two Pianos.
Pianists Nicholas Laban, David
Abbott, and Lia Jensen-Abbott
will bring these pieces and
more to life.
