Description:
|
The 50th anniversary of Albion's beloved Lessons and Carols takes place Sunday, December 6, at 7 p.m. in the College's Goodrich Chapel. A special alumni choir will join the Concert Choir and Briton Singers, along with guest readers and organist Royal Ward, professor emeritus of theatre.
The Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols was established in Britain in the 1880s, and was brought to Albion's campus by the late professor emeritus David Strickler. It has been part of Albion's Christmas tradition ever since.
Strickler's son John will be one of the readers for the service, along with Michigan area United Methodist Bishop Deborah Kiesey, President Ditzler, and representatives of Albion's faculty, staff, student body and community.
This event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact the Albion College Music department at 517/629-0481 or music@albion.edu.
