Description:
|
Pat Wilson, a resident of Albion, recently took a trip to Costa Rica. Located in South America Costa Rica is bordered by the Pacific Ocean to the West and the Caribbean Sea to the East. Having gone this Fall, Pat’s presentation will not only share her activities while in the country, but some of the architecture and the history behind the culture of the people living there. She will offer up a power point presentation and allow for questions and answers.
Originally, Costa Rica was populated by indigenous people and then fell under Spanish rule in the 16th century. Today Costa Rica, an independent country, is known for its progressive environmental policies, being the only country to meet all five UNDP criteria established to measure environmental sustainability.
