EVENT DETAILS
Event: Community Conversation
Date: Thursday, June 29th, 2017
Time: 6:30 PM − 8:30 PM
Location: Ludington Center
101 N. Superior Street
Albion, MI
Description: Please join the Albion-
Marshall Resilient
Communities Project (AMRCP)
for its third Community
Conversations for the
residents of Albion.
Building on the successes of
our children, who have shown
tremendous courage and
growth, the AMRCP is excited
to invite adults in our
communities to enter into
dialogue with one another
and aid one another in the
process of our own healing
so that we may fully support
our youth as they need.
These conversations are
designed to provide honest
dialogue on how to move
forward collectively after
the annexation of Albion
Public Schools by Marshall
Public Schools. Within each
community, we will offer a
safe, yet brave space to
express our feelings,
concerns, and fears, along
with our triumphs, joys, and
hopes for the future.

There will be a community
conversation in Albion and
Marshall - parents and
community members are
invited to attend the
conversations that will take
place in their home city.
This process is based on the
idea of using "affinity
groups" and "caucusing" to
address racial equity. For
more information on affinity
groups and caucusing, please
see:

s.org/act/strategies/caucus-
affinity-groups

Throughout this process, our
steering committee will look
at ways to engage community
leadership in solutions,
based on the feedback we
receive from you, the
community. Later in the
project, we would like to
bring the issues and ideas
raised in the conversations
within each community to a
larger group, with members
of both cities.
