Description:

With fall right around the corner, Albion College’s Alpha Xi Delta (AXiD) sorority is busy organizing this year’s 17th Annual Turkey Trot to support Autism Speaks. The event, which offers many activities and chances for the whole family to get involved, will take place on Sunday, October 21st, at 10:30 a.m. in Albion's Victory Park.
On-site registration begins at 10:30 a.m., and the 5k Run/Walk starts at 12 p.m. Walkers, strollers, wheelchairs, and wagons are welcome.
Pre-registration is available for only $8 ($12 includes a shirt). Race day registration will be available for $10, or $15 with a shirt as supplies last.
Autism Speaks is dedicated to promoting solutions, across the spectrum and throughout the lifespan, for the needs of individuals with autism and their families through advocacy and support; increasing understanding and acceptance of autism spectrum disorder; and advancing research into causes and better interventions for autism spectrum disorder and related conditions. Autism Speaks enhances lives today and is accelerating a spectrum of solutions for tomorrow. An estimated 1 out of 42 boys, and overall 1 out of 68 children are diagnosed with autism in the United States every year. More children are diagnosed with autism each year than juvenile diabetes, AIDS or cancer.
For questions about the Turkey Trot or to register, please feel free to contact Elizabeth Sahouri at ess10@albion.edu.
