Rochelle Riley makes her
rescheduled presentation for
Albion's 2019 Martin Luther
King, Jr., Convocation.
Riley's presentation takes
place at 7 p.m. on Tuesday,
February 26, in Albion's
downtown Bohm Theatre.


Detroit Free Press columnist
Riley is the author of “The
Burden: African Americans
and the Enduring Impact of
Slavery” and a co-founder
of Letters to Black Girls,'
a national mission to pass
words of encouragement from
black women to girls. She
frequently appears on
National Public Radio, MSNBC
and Fox2. Her national
awards include a team
Pulitzer Prize for local
reporting, an Ida B. Wells
Award from the National
Association of Black
Journalists, and the Will
Rogers Award from the
National Society of
Newspaper Columnists. Riley
was a 2016 inductee into the
Michigan Journalism Hall of
Fame and will be a 2019
inductee into the North
Carolina Media and
Journalism Hall of Fame.
