Albion College senior Isabel Allaway discusses “Social Attitudes to Protest, Voting, & Attaining Social Mobility in South Africa” on Tuesday, February 18, at 7 p.m. in the Ludington Center.
Allaway spent the fall 2019 semester in South Africa, where she conducted an independent research project, supported by Albion College's Tunnicliff Endowment. Allaway is a senior sociology major and a member of the Gerald R. Ford Institute for Leadership in Public Policy and Service.
The Tunnicliff Endowment at Albion College supports students engaging in a study-abroad program, as international experience was among Tunniclif's educational passions. It was established following the untimely 2011 death of former Albion mayor and Albion College Ford Institute director Kim Tunnicliff. Originally appointed at Albion in 1984 as a faculty member in the Political Science Department, Tunnicliff's post-Albion career included leadership positions with the Associated Colleges of the Midwest, Augustana College, and the College of Wooster.
This event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact the College's Center for International Education, cie@albion.edu or 517/629- 0307.
