for World Diabetes Day
Marshall, MI —
In recognition of World Diabetes Day,

event on Friday, November 14, from 10:00 a.m.
to 2:00 p.m. at the Fountain Clinic, located
at 111 N. Jefferson Street. Suite 1, in
Marshall.
This public event invites
community members to stop by for a
variety of health screenings and services,
including: • A1C tests (a simple
blood test that measures average blood
sugar levels over the past 2–3 months used
in diagnosing type 2 diabetes) • Blood
sugar checks • Blood pressure checks •
Flu and COVID vaccines (Please bring your
insurance card, no co-pays apply) • Foot
care screenings
The event will also feature
refreshments provided by Pastrami Joe’s
and opportunities to connect with local
healthcare professionals and wellness
resources.
“We’re excited to partner with
Oaklawn to bring these services together
under one roof for World Diabetes Day,”
said Mary Jo Byrne, Fountain Clinic
Executive Director. “Our goal is to help
community members take small, proactive
steps toward better health.”
“Nearly
half of all Americans have either diabetes or
prediabetes. Hemmingsen Drug Store is
proud to be a part of this event that empowers
our neighbors with tools to manage their
health.” Chris Munden, R.Ph./President
Hemmingsen Drug Store.
“Diabetes
awareness and prevention start with
education and early detection,” said Jason
Cole, Program Quality Coordinator,
Oaklawn Diabetes Education. “By offering
screenings like A1C tests and providing
guidance on healthy habits, we hope to
empower people to better understand and
manage their health.”
While all
screenings and wellness services are offered
at no cost, insurance will be billed for flu
and COVID vaccinations, so please bring
your insurance card. However, no co-pays
or out-of-pocket costs will be charged to
